Cosmopor Steril® is a self-adhesive wound dressing that stands out thanks to its innovative design. At the heart of the dressing is a hydrophobic micro-mesh that lies directly on the wound as the first layer. This mesh has the important task of directing wound secretions quickly and efficiently into the overlying absorbent pad. While this process is taking place, the micro-mesh itself remains completely dry, reliably preventing it from sticking to the wound. This property ensures that dressing changes are painless and the wound is not subjected to any further stress. The Cosmopor Steril® absorbent pad is made of 100% pure absorbent cotton, which gives the dressing excellent drapability. It not only offers high absorbency, but also an outstanding cushioning effect that provides additional protection for the wound. The soft backing fleece is permeable to air and water vapor, which ensures good ventilation and at the same time reduces the risk of moisture build-up. The dressing is particularly kind to the skin, which is ensured by the coating with hypoallergenic polyacrylate adhesive. This adhesive minimizes the risk of allergic reactions and is suitable for patients with particularly sensitive skin. Cosmopor Steril® is ideal for post-operative wound care and for the sterile treatment of minor injuries that may occur during first aid, for example.
