CRP Test

The CRP test for the cobas® b 101 POC analysis system is an important parameter for the evaluation of inflammatory processes and associated diseases, infections and tissue injuries. With a measurement time of less than 4 minutes and a sample volume of only 12 µL, this test offers a fast and efficient diagnostic option. The test is compatible with various sample materials, including capillary whole blood, serum, venous whole blood with Li heparin and venous whole blood with K2 or K3 EDTA plasma. Its measuring range extends from 3.0 to 400.0 mg/L or 0.30 to 40.0 mg/dL. Recommended by guidelines such as those of the NHG (NL) and NICE (UK), the CRP test serves as a decision-making aid for antibiotic therapy for respiratory tract infections. If the CRP value is below 20 mg/L, routine antibiotic therapy is not recommended, while values above 100 mg/L suggest such therapy. At values between 20 and 100 mg/L, delayed antibiotic therapy is considered, especially if symptoms worsen.
