The WESTMED® emergency bandage is a versatile and compact 4-in-1 solution for fast and effective initial treatment of heavily bleeding wounds. It was specially developed for use by first aiders, emergency services and also for self-care. With a stretched length of 4,5 meters, it offers sufficient material to ensure secure fixation and pressure application. The bandage is available in two sizes: 4“ (10 cm x 4.5 m) and 6” (15 cm x 4 m), so that it can be flexibly adapted to different wound sizes and types.
The WESTMED® emergency bandage is equipped with a practical pressure applicator that focuses the pressure directly on the wound site and thus enables rapid hemostasis. The integrated thread prevents the bandage from unrolling accidentally, guaranteeing simple and controlled application. The fastening clip holds the bandage securely in place without the need for any other aids. The non-adherent wound pad ensures that the bandage can be removed painlessly and gently without sticking to the wound.
Thanks to its quick and easy application, the emergency bandage is suitable for use by both laypersons and professional rescue workers.
It is used in many areas such as the military, disaster relief, rescue services and in first aid kits. A particularly practical feature is that the bandage can also be applied by the injured person themselves, which can be crucial in an emergency. The efficient application of pressure saves valuable time, as there is no need for a separate pressure pad, and offers a reliable solution for treating wounds. The absorbent wound dressing prevents sticking to the wound and the bandage is easy to remove.

Application for the WESTMED® emergency bandage
Placement of the dressing:
- Begin application by placing the sterile, non-adherent dressing of the WESTMED® Emergency Bandage directly on the wound.
First bandage layer and pressure application:
- Wrap the first layer of bandage over the wound and guide it through the hoop of the integrated pressure applicator. Then pull the bandage tightly back over the wound site. The bow of the pressure applicator exerts direct pressure on the wound dressing through the firm pull, which quickly stops the bleeding. The applicator acts like a pressure pad and ensures that pressure is applied efficiently to the wound. At the same time, the applicator makes wrapping easier as it holds the wound dressing and the first layer of bandage securely in place.
Further wrapping:
- Now wrap additional material around the wound to protect the dressing and the pressure applicator from external influences. These wraps ensure stable fixation and prevent the bandage from loosening or shifting during treatment.
With this application, the wound is treated quickly and safely, the pressure remains constant and bleeding is effectively stopped.
