B.I.G™ Bone Injection Gun

The B.I.G™ Bone Injection Gun from Waismed provides rapid intraosseous access. Especially in critical emergency situations such as hypovolaemic, cardiogenic, septic or toxic shock, the fast mechanical access is suitable. By setting the penetration depth and removing the safety tab, the instrument is immediately ready for use. Penetration through the corticalis into the cancellous bone is achieved by means of a trocar and a spring force in less than 1 second. The B.I.G™ Bone Injection Gun punctures a canal without angular degree deviation, therefore no leakage is created during volume compensation of the puncture site. The trocar has a very good holding strength in the puncture channel of the corticalis. The defined spring force and high speed creates an access that penetrates less invasively and damages the bone tissue less, which minimises the risk of infection. A practical Luer lock connection ensures that no unwanted fluids escape when connecting standard infusion systems. The two different sizes 18 G and 15 G allow for a supply at any age. The red B.I.G™ Bone Injection Gun is suitable for children 0-12 years and has a penetration depth of up to 1.5 cm, the blue one promises a penetration depth of 2.5 cm and is suitable for children and adults 12 years and older.
