Dermabond skin adhesive from Johnson & Johnson Medical GmbH is a skin adhesive consisting of 2-octyl cyanoacrylate and ensures safe and easy wound closure. The skin adhesive can be applied to the wound edge in a very thin and targeted layer using the application syringe. The skin adhesive is suitable for small cuts and lacerations up to 5 cm. The Dermabond skin adhesive saves time and material, such as dressing or suture material, and is a particularly pleasant and painless method for the patient. The adhesive also offers protection against moisture, such as when showering, and provides a microbial barrier. The transparent property is also practical and enables permanent and constant monitoring of the wound. Another advantage of Dermabond skin adhesive is that it does not need to be kept refrigerated, so it can always be kept close at hand or carried in an emergency kit.
