The BD Vacutainer Precisionglide cannulas with sharp triple bevel are an important component of the BD Vacutainer blood collection system. This system creates a closed vacuum environment that enables safe and gentle blood collection. The cannulas are specially coated and polished to ensure a painless puncture. The system consists of the cannula, a safety valve and a BD Vacutainer disposable holder, which is able to hold a predefined volume of blood. During use, the cannula is screwed into the holder together with the safety valve and the vein is punctured. The vacuum in the tube then gently fills the blood. The safety valve above the cannula prevents blood from escaping during the procedure, which is particularly important when several tubes are taken in succession. The choice of cannula size depends on the vein to be punctured, with the yellow cannula being suitable for strong veins. Thanks to their precise and sharp cutting edge, the cannulas are virtually risk-free to use. They are packaged sterile and are subject to strict quality controls. They are supplied in packs of 100 cannulas.
