CoaguChek® Pro II aPTT Controls

The CoaguChek aPTT Controls are an essential component for regular checking and monitoring of the CoaguChek Pro II analyzer. These controls provide an accurate measurement of prothrombin time (PT), which is critical for assessing blood clotting ability. They have been specifically designed to ensure that the CoaguChek Pro II analyzer functions correctly and provides reliable test results. The use of the CoaguChek aPTT Controls is intended for and should only be performed by healthcare professionals or persons authorized by a physician. The control set consists of several components, including lyophilized, anticoagulated human plasma in bottles as well as full pipettes with calcium chloride and preservative. In addition, a code chip is supplied, which provides important information on the current test batch and thus ensures the reliability of the results. The measurement with the CoaguChek aPTT Controls is carried out amperometrically, based on an electrochemical determination after activation of blood coagulation with Celite. This method enables precise measurement of the prothrombin time. To perform the control, a small amount of the test fluid is taken and applied to a CoaguChek aPTT test strip, which is available separately. After a short measurement time of about 5 minutes, the CoaguChek Pro II analyzer displays the result, which is then compared with the reference values to check the accuracy of the device. The CoaguChek aPTT Controls offer a measurement range of 20 to 130 plasma equivalent seconds, providing wide coverage of different patient profiles. It is important to keep the controls refrigerated at 2-8°C to ensure stability. One pack of CoaguChek aPTT Controls contains four controls, each designed for a single test run.
