Sam-IO® infusion needle

The SAM-IO® Infusion Needle is a central component of the SAM IO Intraosseous Access System and has been developed for the fast, precise and safe creation of intraosseous access. In combination with the manually operated SAM IO Driver/Drill, it enables immediate vascular access via the bone marrow - especially in emergencies when peripheral access is difficult or impossible to achieve.

Thanks to the innovative mechanical system, the needle is placed by continuously pressing the trigger on the SAM IO Driver. Each complete triggering generates a controlled rotation of the needle assembly which, combined with gentle downward pressure, allows stable, even penetration of the bone. The entire process is intuitive, fast and current independent, making SAM IO an ideal solution for use in preclinical, clinical or tactical environments.

Once the infusion needle is correctly placed, the integrated stylet is removed to reveal a standard Luer lock connector. An extension set can be easily connected to this, allowing immediate aspiration checks, flushing and the administration of fluids or medication. SAM-IO® infusion needles are available in three lengths, 15 mm, 25 mm and 45 mm, covering a wide range of anatomical conditions and patient groups.
