ECG paper for defibrillators - types, use and application tips

ECG paper, also known as defibrillator paper, is a consumable used to record cardiac activity during defibrillator use. It enables the heart rhythm to be analyzed and heart problems to be diagnosed.

Different types of ECG paper:

Thermal paper: The most commonly used type. It is heat sensitive and records the ECG trace by blackening the paper.

Inkjet paper: Uses ink to print the ECG trace. Offers higher resolution and accuracy than thermal paper, but is also more expensive.

Laser paper: Works similarly to inkjet paper, but uses laser technology to print the ECG trace. Provides the highest resolution and accuracy, but is also the most expensive option.

Tips for using ECG paper:

• Store the paper in a cool, dry place.
• Use only original manufacturer's paper.
• Check the paper for damage before use.
• Clean the defibrillator after each use to remove paper dust.
