DURAN® YOUTILITY® membrane closure, GL 45

DURAN® YOUTILITY laboratory bottles are ideal containers for sterilizing and storing media or buffer solutions. The sterile screw caps with ventilation membrane were developed to overcome restrictions during autoclaving, such as failure of the bottle or the creation of a vacuum. The screw cap can be sealed tightly as the membrane enables automatic sterile gas exchange, ensuring safe pressure equalization during the autoclaving cycle while maintaining the sterility of the bottle contents.

• Made of PP plastic, PTFE
• Pressure equalization during steam sterilization
• The microporous structure of the ePTFE membrane enables sterile gas exchange in two directions, blocks the penetration of liquids or solids and the bottle contents remain sterile
• Cost-effective, as the caps can be reused several times (replacement is recommended after 3 to 5 autoclaving cycles for durability reasons or if the membrane is damaged or contaminated)
• Polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membrane (corresponds to USP 121 °C class VI) with polypropylene mesh
