The Rtx-65 phase contains the highest phenyl content of any bonded stationary phase available to improve the separation of aromatic compounds by enhancing the interaction between phase and analyte. Thanks to their unique polarity, these columns are ideal for a wide range of analyses, from phenols to FAMEs. As a confirmatory column for phenols according to EPA Method 604, an Rtx-65 column gives a different elution order than the primary Rtx-5 column. Rtx-65 columns elute FAMEs according to their equivalent chain length, similar to bonded Carbowax columns, but the Rtx-65 phase is not affected by similar thermal stability limitations as other polar stationary phases.
