The Mesotest II is a device for testing twilight vision and glare sensitivity.
The study of the twilight vision and the glare sensitivity is an important addition to the daylight visual acuity testing, especially when assessing the fitness to drive at night.
And if the patient has intraocular lenses or had refractive surgery, it is advisable to check his mesopic vision and glare sensitivity both pre- and postoperatively, as well as tinted glasses are to be prescribed.
Method: The test is performed with a Landolt ring visual acuity of 0.1. The Landolt ring presentation is possible in six positions. Tested are four levels of contrast with glare (environment luminance 0.10 cd / m²) and four levels of contrast without glare (environment luminance 0.032 cd / m²).
The control of the device is done via a hand-operated control unit.
