Looking for the best distillation components for your laboratory equipment?

Distilling heads are available with varying inlets and outlets. For example, we offer the Claisen-head distilling adapter which features 2 inlets and 2 outlets. Distillation links can be purchased with varying olive sizes, off-set vacuum stub and dropping point, or with fused lieblig condenser.

Our distillation columns have very good chemical resistance and high temperature resistance. Fractionation becomes easy with our Hempel columns and DURAN® Vigreux columns because they are packed with glass beads, creating a larger surface which improves the separation of liquids. Distilling adapters, links and columns are made of borosilicate glass 3.3.

Bredt type distillation receivers ensure the collection of liquified vapour as it drips from the connected condenser and has 4 flask sockets, 4 flasks and 1 inclined input socket. However, you may also purchase an Anschütz-Thiele type distillation receiver which has an oblique approach, vacuum connection with a removable PP-olive Ø 8.6 mm. The removable olive for this type of distillation receiver is made out of polypropylene and is very similar to HDPE-type plastics. However, PP is slightly harder and more heat-resistant. Both types are made using borosilicate glass.

Our distilling controller is manually controlled and includes the following: Cone 29/32 for a distilling column. Socket 14,5/23 for a thermometer with Ground joint (or similar). Side PTFE valve (adjustable) for setting the return flow with cone 14,5/23 for a collecting flask. In addition, the distilling controller is constructed of borosilicate glass.

Distillation components like filling materials, such as Raschig rings help to pack distillation columns. Glass beads could be used as boiling stones, mixing beads or as packing in distillation columns. Glass beads and Raschig rings are available made of soda lime glass and in varying circumferences. The combination of silica, soda, lime, dolomite and sodium chloride creates a winning combination for container glass and has particularly good chemical durability against water. Thermometers with ground joints have a measuring range of 0 to +150 °C and are graduated for easy measuring.

Further distillation components like bends can be essential in distillation experiments and as such, we offer many variations at different angles and with 2 inlet/outlet sockets. Distillation receivers may require delivery adapters which we provide in various lengths and materials. Thermometers with ground joints have a measuring range of 0 to +150 °C and are graduated for easy measuring.

For cooling condensate from vapours, we offer cooling equipment like Liebig condensers, which consist of a straight glass tube surrounded by a water jacket. The benefit of the water jacket is that the water is constantly circulated in the jacket to carry away the heat of vaporisation released during the condensing period. For increased efficiency during the condensation process, we offer Dimroth-type coil condensers. This condenser is designed with a series of glass tubes, where a cooling fluid may be circulated through the innermost tube, and therefore, provides a larger surface area for the condensing process. Stainless steel condensers are also available.
