These closures with a high-purity silicone/PTFE moulded disc are only laminated with PTFE in the area of contact with the sample. In this way, the elastomeric silicone can achieve a particularly good seal on the glass edges of the bottle, while fully PTFE-laminated septa have a very slippery surface on the glass and can therefore be easily rotated.
